Incubus - Are You In
Uploaded by shithead

This is one of my more favourite Incubus songs.
It's a lot different from all the other stuff on Morning View, I think that's why I like it so much.
It's a lot more fun, a lot less "political message".

And Heck..
It's so much easier..when seafoam green is in fashion...
are you in?

Tue, Jan. 2nd, 2007, 06:06 pm
It's 2007...already!

I guess I'll make the traditional new year post and then proceed to write down all my resolutions that I will make, but break by the end of this year. That is right... It's RESOLUTION TIME!

1. Figure out what I want to do when I grow up or when I finish university...whichever comes first...my bet is on graduating from university. What am I going to do with a popular culture degree? I wish I was more practical in high school, and chosen something a little less narrowfielded. <- Is that a word? So this task definately requires much networking, researching, pondering and lots of networking...going to shows..you know, to network of course.

2. Walk, and drink (h20) a lot. I don't know. I mean, I can totally pull this one off...but it is so easy not to either. It's all apart of a bigger resolution to get healthy. I'm going to walk to warden and sheppard to take the bus down to warden station instead of taking the bus from pharmacy and sheppard to get to warden and sheppard to take the bus down to work. Who knows??! This one I might actually keep!!!

3. Volunteer or take a course in something...what I don't know. But I don't see why I can't handle both.

4. Improve my photoshop/computer skills. I definately think this srve me some purpose in helping me with whatever I end up doing. As well, maybe create a podcast.

The end.

PS. Heroes.is.AWESOME.

Well, I did do all those things on that list in my last post. YAY!

But there are a whole bunch of stuff now..
like this 3000 word essay which is suppose to be between 10-12 pages...
due tomorrow at 3pm.

Grand eh?
So I'm pulling an all nighter until I finish, leave house at 2 to hand in this sucker of a paper and then volunteer, and then go home and sleep until laura and I embark on our friday night bar hoping.

yay! I cannot wait!

My To Do List...

SCREW.

So there's so much crap that I need to get done and boy is it hard to even start it.

But It's so close to the end that I hate myself for even having the feeling to give up.

But I did make a tremendously delicious dinner tonight that only carnivores would enjoy....no, maybe an omnivore...

Steak, chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and garlic toast by laura...It was tasty.

But I don't want to do any homework. There's so much crap to do!!!

So here is my to do list further broken down:

Tonight:
1) Finish summing up NYPD Blue article
Type up notes and think of questions

2) Start looking for some quotes to use in my essay and quite possibly start it tonight

3) TV Log
Write it

Tomorrow:
1) Finish hand-out
2) Think of question to post on web CT
3) Read article and summarize
4) Oh...ya..Write an essay for Culture and technology

I can do this!
I like striking things off my list!

Matthew Fox-y

Umm..
Long time no post.

But I would like to touch upon my fondness for Matthew Fox.
I watched the season premiere of Lost this past Wednesday and OH.MY.GOSH!

Oh.My.Gosh.

I won't worry my life away...

It is going to be one of those four months.
I can feel it in my bones.
It's never what you really want it to be. It gets there, but it never lasts, you know?

It's going to be one of those four months where everything is just shy of what you want it to be.

It's going to by in a blur.
A blur that leaves you questioning what just happened?

And then after it's all over.
It'll be good. And then I'll look back and forget how bad it really was. Because it really wasn't all that bad...or so it seems.

Wed, Sep. 13th, 2006, 12:07 am
Overwhemled...

I'm sure all of you are feeling it.
I sure am and it's only the 1st full week of classes, Wednesday early morning. I cannot wait until Saturday, because that is when I can actually catch up with ALLLLL my readings. Then, I also have to a) apply to p/t jobs b) apply to co-op jobs c) volunteer at the radio station.

I'm sure I've said this many a times in this LJ of mine, but I am so overwhelmed with school work...I'm so scared. I have never been this scared about school before...NEVER...

I actually want to dare I say it...quit co-op and just finish up this year and get a degree at the end of it. It's totally possible...Totally!

And this is a bad day.
I banged my head against my makeshift desk...
I have a massive bump on my fivehead.

Fuck.
I hate school.
With a passion.

The End.

Outside Music

I am ever so grateful that I had the opportunity to intern at Outside this summer.
It has been an experience of a lifetime, and I now realize how much I miss it there.
A lot. I think I'm going back in the Winter...along with trying to find something that will complement it.

I'm also trying to get a lot of related work experience this semester.
Hopefully Bedlam will get back to me soon. I really want to help out there. And of course CFBU. We'll see how it goes.

I am absolutely not going to love school-related stuff this semester. I can feel it.

Sun, Jul. 30th, 2006, 09:30 pm

What I like right now...because people SOOOOOO want to know...(That was sarcasm at its weakest)

Song(s) of the summer so far....

BENJY FERREE- The Desert
This is my song of the summer. It's one of those songs that would perfect for a commerical for summer beer. Just sitting on the dock of the bay...and or camping. It's one of those songs you share with the people you would share a beer with, in the most perfect of summer days.

CURSIVE- Great Decay/Into The Fold
By no means are these two summer songs. But I recently started to listened to cursive, which I haven't done so in a loooong loooong time and I fell in love again. And then I remembered why I like them ever so...

MOVIES...

MURDERBALL

...

I know this didn't come out this summer...but I saw it sort of this summer and I also got it as a late birthday present.
I really did enjoy a lot of the lines, I loved the soundtrack and it's so frigging hardcore...
I watched this movie three times in the span of two days.  First I watched it, and then I watched it with the people commentary, and then I watched it with Arica the next day.  Ya. I really like this movie.  And I can only watch movies a lot of times in a row when they're really good.

Books...
I just started trainspotting and then I couldn't stand the literal spelling of how Scotish people spoke. So I gave up and started and finished The Devil Wears Prada. It was chick lit...and chick lit did its job.  So I guess it's back to Trainspotting.

Ok. Ok. Blue Jays. Blue Jays. Let's. Let's. Play. Play. Balllllll!
And I like going to Jays games because 1) It costs almost as much as a movie, but it usually take longer than a movie 2) The atmosphere! And you can take food into a Jays game 2) You can win free stuff 3) 11 or more strikeouts freeee PIZZA! 4) You get to yell random stuff out like "PIZZA" 5) The Jays are actually good this year and they have a pretty good chance at winning...

These are the things I like.  That I can come up with at this very moment.
what are your summer likings? HMMM?

EDIT: Sorry for all the grammar mistakes...I re-read it and I am appalled at the numerous spelling mistakes, most notably Scottish and my use of its when it should be it's. I'm just too lazy to correct it all. LJ is being stupid. Or I can't figure out how you put a youtube video up... so youtube murderball to see a trailer..

It's Official.

CO-OP SUCKS BALLS.

Sat, Jul. 22nd, 2006, 03:03 am

How can something feel so right at the time, but turn out to be the worst possible thing to do for the future. Which ever way I look at it, I don't see anyone budging...I wouldn't see myself budging either. It'd be too easy. Comfort is well, comforting. As great a feeling as it brings you in the many forms...it's not always the right thing to do.

And sometimes you don't want to do what you should do. And it may not be what is good for you at the moment, but it somehow turns out to be an amazing thing for you in the future.

You know what?
I don't know what I'm saying. I thought I did, but I don't.

I'm treading through mur-ky wat-ers...

Holy Bat Shorts!

Ummm...

Anathallo was SOOOOO good. I mean. Whoa. It blows my mind still.

This was definately the best set I have ever seen.  It seems as though I say that about every concert I come back from.  But this one was just WOW.

Why Anathallo is Awesome:

1) They were dead on note-wise, pitch, timing, rhythm, choreographed moves, cut offs, start offs, clapping, even syncronized seizure like dance moves...you name it, they nailed it.

2) There's 7 of them. Refer to reason number 1 please.

3) Their songs are pretty and they have pretty stories and meanings behind their songs.  That's folk music, folks.

4) You could see that EVERYONE...All 8 or 7 or however many them there are doing it for the love of music.  It was definately a treat to see that feverish passion.  I said this twice last night.  About A Boy, the movie, the part where Hugh Grant's ass of a character talks about the boy and his mother singing with their eyes closed...ya, that's passion. Uninhibited feeling.

5) Their instruments included and not limited to: guitar, bass, keyboard/synthesizer, bass drum, drum kit, banana and orange shaped morracos, trumpets, trombone, balloons, and a heck of a lot of clapping.

6) Lots of clapping-along rhythms.

And that is why Anathallo is awesome.

So whenever I hang out with K-Dawg.  We always make weird and random memories.  But they're always pretty damn good.

Who needs music when me and kathryn can hum it or "doo doo" it for you?
Even if you want the multi-layers...we'll be able to do it.  It's our version of beatboxing...
Who needs directions when you don't know where places are?
We do.
We do.

ANATHALLO.
Check it out.

Cat Empire

I went to the Cat Empire show at The Mod Club in the midst of Italian celebration over a certain world cup win...but whatever, it added to the mood and it was awesome. Loved it. There was so much energy, everyone was dancing, drinking and having a grand old time and it was one of the most fun shows I've been to. I don't think it would have mattered what they played, everyone would go crazy. People knew all the words to their songs and I certainly learned them just being in the crowd.  There must be a soft spot on the mod club floor because at one point, I felt the floor sink up and down to the beat of the people dancing. And their soundscans for every show are amazing! Almost 200 CDs sold at each show they do! Insane!
Apparently most shows outside does it's never a full show, (with the exception of the arctic monkeys show) and usually everyone who goes to the show don't show much emotion or appreciation.
[Error: unknown template 'video'][Error: unknown template 'video']

And peeps over at Outside are so frigging awesome! Free show, drinks from Lloyd. Also had a nice chat with moe over a beer on a patio before the show.

YAY!
And do you see the new youtube button on the easy mode of LJ??!?!?!??!
LOVE IT!
EDIT: It doesn't work...Boo.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

What a shitty ass day...

I woke up and shut my alarm clock off and then I woke up late.
Then I forgot my book at home...the day when all the 24 hours and Metros have been taken by those earlier than me at Sheppard and Pharmacy and again at Warden.
Then there wasn't much to do at work today either.
And I have been cold for the entire day.
I hate these kinds of days.
I couldn't even catch up on all the Da Vinci Code reading I wanted to do over the weekend but didn't get around to today.
Owell.
bye.

That was so unsatisfying...

Fri, May. 12th, 2006, 07:12 pm

I love interning at Outside...that is when I have stuff to do.
And the people I work with are too funny and they're just too awesome for words.
This is weird because yesterday was totally crappy because I couldn't stand not having anything to do and I left early...granted they're really
relaxed about it and I left 20 minutes before I usually do, but today I had so much stuff to do it was great.
That was a really long sentence and I shall not bore anyone with my interning stuff now.

Instead I bore you with random stuff.

So I was watching I think it was MTV the other night and they had a special feature on Russell Peters.  Come on! You know him! TAP SOME BONG!...anywho. So he was movig into his LA home or something and he had these Mexican movers move his massive fridge and they used some sort of contraption that was so simple and yet so cool.  I found out what it was via BoingBoing...It's the Forearm forklift! Watch the videos! They will blow your mind...or not. But I thought it was totally cool.

And it's Mother's Day on Sunday...what to get my mother dearest? I don't know. I truly don't know...
Anywho.

Sun, May. 7th, 2006, 04:35 pm

It's been a busy week of interning.
I learned how to use a postage machine, update databases, send out mail, sort publicity cds, promo cds, and more...
Plus I sent out a package address to none other than George! YAY!

The bus rides are killer...especially after work.
But everyone is nice and I scored some free stuff which is always good when you have to pay 600 dollars to a certain hellhole in order to work for free during the summer.

I'm not going to link hellhole because I might get in trouble if I do...
Who do they think they are? The fight club?

Speaking of fight club...I'm reading Chuck Palahniuk's Diary.  This book is a little too insane for me, but a book is suppose to make you feel and I feel.

I watched Brokeback Mountain yesterday with Arica...oh. my. gosh. I almost cried...not really. But it was really really sad and so much better than I expected it to be.
I heard that there wasn't a lot of dialogue in the movie and that is true...but it works and I wasn't bored or anything. So yes, go watch it if its your thing...it's worth a rent!

So yes...if there's a movie that you can suggest that will make me cry..shoot.  I'm on a quest to find one this summer.
